Alot of people have a hard time keeping their boots in good condition. Let's face it, if you pay alot for a pair of boots you want them to hold up and to continue to look good. Here are a few suggestions on how best to maintain the quality of your boots. First to keep them clean try not to let dust accumulate on any leather. Wiping down the leather with a damp cloth will remove any dirt or dust from the boot. Allow your boots to dry out thoroughly between wearing so bacteria will not grow in the leather. Allow your boots to air dry or try putting them over the air vent in your home as long as it doesn't blow hot air. Do NOT dry your boots with any heat. It will dry them out excessively and strong heat can dry the boots and make the material on the shoes harden.
To condition the boots is another step that is important in protecting the leather. It will keep the original look and feel of the leather, it also helps keep the boots from drying out and cracking. Especially concentrate on the area where bending toes cause the sole to flex. There are several types of conditioner that you could use. Nikwax Liquid Conditioner and Revivex Boot Cleaner and Conditioner are both good conditioners to use.
Polishing boots also will help your boots keep their new look. It will help cover any skuffs, and can make your boots shine. I would recommend checking with the brand you bought your boots from to see if they carry any polish. If not a few good ones to try are Farnam and Leather CPR Polish.

Protecting your boots is important also. Boot trees will help your boot continue to hold its form and shape and you can get those at most shoe retailers online.
